GUIDE 4 OF 6

Asking questions with AI

The chat answers questions about the selected site using its Search Console and GA4 data. It explains in plain English and is told to state when evidence is missing.

Updated

Good questions to start with

  • What should I fix first?
  • Which pages rank but get no clicks?
  • Where am I getting traffic but no conversions?
  • Why might my traffic be changing?

Choose your model

Open “AI settings” from the account menu to choose a default model. Claude Sonnet 4.6 gives more thorough explanations and GPT-5.4 gives quicker answers.

Use your own API keys

In AI settings, you can add your own OpenAI or Anthropic key so usage is billed to your account. Keys are stored encrypted and you can remove them at any time.

More models with OpenRouter

  1. Create an API key at openrouter.ai and add credit to your OpenRouter account.
  2. In AI settings, paste the key into the OpenRouter field and save.
  3. Choose one of the OpenRouter models: Gemini 3.8 Flash, DeepSeek V4 Pro, Mistral Large 4, Grok 4.7 or Llama 4 Maverick.

OpenRouter models only work with your own key, and usage is billed to your OpenRouter account. SEO Signals asks OpenRouter to route requests only to providers that do not collect user data.

Limits and accuracy

You can send up to 10 AI requests a minute. AI answers can be wrong, so check important decisions against the evidence in the dashboard.
