FREE SINGLE-PAGE SEO CHECK
Check one page’s SEO basics
Enter a URL. SEO Signals fetches the HTML that URL returns and shows what it found, with the evidence for each result.
- Evidence for every result
- Markdown and PDF export
- No account needed
Why use this check?
Paste one URL
No account, no install. Enter a page address and get results in about ten seconds.
Evidence, not guesses
Every result shows exactly what we found in the page: the tag, the header, the text.
A next step for every result
Each finding explains why it matters and what to do about it, in plain English.
What this check covers
One returned HTML response and up to three redirects. It is not a site audit, and it cannot tell you whether Google has indexed the page.
Checks
- HTTP status and up to three HTTP redirects
- Title and meta description
- H1 and heading order
- Canonical declarations in the HTML and HTTP headers
- Meta robots and X-Robots-Tag directives
Does not check
- Content added by JavaScript
- Links, other pages or the rest of the website
- Meta refresh redirects, which are reported but not followed
- robots.txt
- Whether Google has indexed the page or how it ranks
WHAT’S IN THE REPORT
Every result shows what we found and what to do next
Results are grouped as Issues, Review, Couldn’t check and Passed. Here is what each part of the report looks like.
- PassedTitle
One title within the length guide
- Title
- Emergency Plumbers in Leeds | Smith & Sons
- Length
- 42 characters
The page has a single, non-empty title within the usual length guide.
- ReviewMeta description
Description length is outside the 70–160 character guide
- Description
- Plumbers in Leeds. Call today.
- Length
- 30 characters
This is guidance, not a rule. Search engines often rewrite snippets anyway.
Titles and descriptions
See the exact title and meta description the page returns, how long they are, and whether there are duplicates or empty tags. Lengths are treated as guidance, because search engines measure display width, not characters.
Check a page- ReviewHeading order
1 skipped heading level
- Gap 1
- H2 → H4: Opening hours
- Outline
- H1 Emergency plumbers in Leeds H2 Our services H4 Opening hours H2 Contact us
Skipping levels is valid HTML but can make the outline harder to follow. It may be a styling choice.
Next step: Use heading levels for structure and CSS for size.
Heading structure
Check there is a clear main heading and that heading levels don’t skip. You get the full outline, so you can spot the gap without opening the source code.
Check a page- IssueCanonical
Canonical declarations conflict
- HTML <head>
- https://www.example-plumber.co.uk/services
- HTTP Link header
- https://example-plumber.co.uk/services
The HTML and HTTP header name different preferred URLs. Search engines may ignore both.
- ReviewRobots directives
A noindex directive was found
- Meta robots
- noindex, follow
noindex asks search engines not to show this URL in results. Right for private pages, a problem for pages you want found.
Canonicals and robots directives
Find noindex tags, X-Robots-Tag headers and conflicting canonical declarations. Some of these are deliberate, so they are marked for review rather than called errors.

- 302https://example-plumber.co.uk/services↓https://www.example-plumber.co.uk/services
- PassedHTTP status
The final response returned 200
- Final HTTP status
- 200 OK
A 2xx status means the server returned this page successfully.
Status codes and redirects
Follow up to three redirects and see every hop. Temporary redirects, long chains and HTTPS-to-HTTP moves are flagged with the evidence.

Check a pageQUESTIONS
Straight answers
Is this really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no trial. You can run five checks a minute.
What exactly does it check?
The HTML that one URL returns, after up to three HTTP redirects: status code, redirects, title, meta description, H1, heading order, canonical declarations, meta robots and X-Robots-Tag.
Why doesn’t it give my page an overall grade?
A single number hides the evidence and invites guesswork. Each result here stands on its own, with what we saw and what to do next.
Why couldn’t you check my page?
Some sites can’t be fetched safely or at all. Common reasons: the site is served through Cloudflare’s network, it blocks automated requests, it took longer than ten seconds, or the address points to a private network. The result tells you which.
Does it run JavaScript or crawl my site?
No. It reads one HTML response. Content added by JavaScript, other pages and links are not checked. That keeps results fast and honest about what was seen.
Do you store my URL or the page?
No. The URL is sent in the request body, the page is analysed in memory, and nothing is logged or saved. Reports are generated in your browser.
Does a pass mean Google has indexed my page?
No. A pass only applies to that one check. Search Console’s URL Inspection tool is the place to see what Google reports for a page.

See how Google treats your pages
This check reads one response. Search Console shows what Google reports: clicks, impressions and the pages that need attention. Connect it to SEO Signals for up to three evidence-based fixes. Your free check results stay the same either way.
