Connect Search Console and Google Analytics 4

SEO Signals reads two Google sources. Search Console shows how people find your site in Google. Google Analytics 4 shows what they do after they arrive.

What SEO Signals asks for

  • Read-only access to Google Search Console (webmasters.readonly).
  • Read-only access to Google Analytics (analytics.readonly).
  • Your basic profile and email address, to create your account.

SEO Signals cannot edit, publish or delete anything in your Google account.

Connect step by step

  1. Sign in to SEO Signals, then choose “Connect Search Console and Analytics”.
  2. Pick the Google account that manages your website. It needs access to the site in both Search Console and Analytics.
  3. Review the read-only permissions Google shows and allow them.
  4. Back in the dashboard, choose your site. Use the GA4 property picker if the right Analytics property isn’t selected.

Set up key events in GA4

SEO Signals uses GA4 key events, such as enquiries, bookings or purchases, to spot pages that bring visitors but rarely lead to action. If you haven’t marked any events as key events in GA4, those findings can’t appear. Set them up in GA4 under Admin, then Events.

Add Bing Webmaster Tools (optional)

  1. Sign in to Bing Webmaster Tools and make sure your site is added and verified there.
  2. Open Settings, then API access, and generate an API key. One key covers every site verified in your Bing account.
  3. In the SEO Signals dashboard, open the Bing section, paste the key and choose “Connect Bing”. SEO Signals checks the key with Bing before saving it.

SEO Signals matches each site to Bing by its domain and shows Bing clicks, impressions, top queries and top pages next to your Google data. Bing data lags by a few days. Access is read-only, the key is stored encrypted, and you can remove it from the same section at any time.

If something doesn’t appear

  • No sites listed: the Google account you used may not have access to the site in Search Console, or the site isn’t verified there.
  • Wrong or missing Analytics data: choose the correct property with the GA4 property picker.
  • “Still gathering data”: Google needs at least seven days of data for the site.
  • Bing says the site wasn’t found: add and verify the same domain in Bing Webmaster Tools.
